This page describes how TurnPoint Hub handles information about the people who read it, download from it and write to it.

The short version

  • We collect what you type into our forms plus the standard technical data every website receives.
  • We use it to send what you asked for, to run the site and to measure our advertising.
  • We do not sell it for money, and you can ask us to delete it whenever you like.

Who is responsible

Waypoint Lane Media LLC, a Texas limited liability company, runs TurnPoint Hub and the website turnpointhub.com. In this document "we", "us" and "our" refer to that company, and "the Hub" means this website together with the guides, downloads and emails we offer through it.

When you browse the Hub or hand us information, you are agreeing to what this document describes. Not comfortable with it? Then please stop using the Hub.

What we gather

Information you type

Forms on the Hub ask for things like a first name, an email address, occasionally a phone number, and whatever you write in a message field. You decide whether to provide them, but a request for a download cannot be fulfilled without an email address to send it to.

Information your Device sends

Like every website, the Hub receives your IP address, the browser you use and its version, the pages you open, when you opened them, how long you stayed, device identifiers and comparable diagnostic details. On a phone or tablet this extends to the device model, its unique identifier, its operating system and the mobile browser in use. Your browser may transmit further details automatically, and we receive those too.

Cookies, pixels and tags

We place cookies, pixels (tiny invisible images embedded in pages and emails), tags and scripts so that the Hub works, so that your preferences stick, so that we can see which guides people read, and so that we can tell whether an advertisement led to a visit or a sign-up. Pixels also let us count how many people opened an email and confirm that our systems are behaving.

Some cookies vanish when you close the browser (session cookies). Others stay until they expire or you remove them (persistent cookies). We group them as follows:

  • Required: sign-in where an Account exists, protection against abuse, and remembering the choice you made in our cookie notice. The Hub does not function without these.
  • Preference: settings you chose, kept between visits so you do not have to choose again.
  • Measurement: aggregated statistics about which pages are read and how visitors move between them.
  • Advertising: campaign measurement and relevant content, set by us and by our advertising partners.

Your browser can block or erase cookies; some features of the Hub will then misbehave. The Cookie Policy goes into more detail.

Why we use the information

  • Delivering the guides, downloads and emails you request, and keeping the Hub running and secure.
  • Creating and maintaining any Account, including the features reserved for registered users.
  • Fulfilling a purchase or any other agreement between you and us.
  • Contacting you about the Hub by email, telephone, text message or a similar channel, including security or service notices.
  • Telling you about related guides, offers and events, until you ask us to stop.
  • Responding to your questions and requests.
  • Assessing or carrying out a merger, sale, restructuring, financing, dissolution or similar transaction involving our business, where the information we hold forms part of what changes hands.
  • Understanding how the Hub is used, measuring our promotional campaigns, and improving what we publish and how we present it.

Who else sees it

  • Processors that host the Hub, send our email, handle payments or compile statistics, strictly for those jobs.
  • Advertising and measurement platforms, notably Google and Meta, for conversion tracking and for showing our advertising to people who have already visited.
  • A successor business if we are bought, merged, financed or restructured, including while such a deal is being negotiated.
  • Affiliated companies, which must honor this document.
  • Partners with whom we run a joint guide, offer or promotion.
  • The public, if you post in a public part of the Hub; whatever you publish there can be read and copied by anyone.
  • Anyone else, with your permission.

Email preferences

Each marketing email carries an unsubscribe link. You can also write to [email protected]. Service messages, such as a download confirmation or a notice about a policy change, may continue even after you unsubscribe from marketing.

Keeping and deleting

We hold personal information for as long as the purposes above require, and longer only where the law obliges us, where a dispute is open, or where we need it to enforce an agreement. Technical data is usually kept for a shorter period, unless it helps us secure or improve the Hub or a legal duty requires otherwise.

Correction, completion and deletion are all available on request. If you have an Account, some details can be edited there directly; for everything else, write to [email protected]. Some records must stay with us for legal reasons, and we will tell you if that applies.

Where the processing happens

We work from Texas, and our Processors may operate in other states or countries. Your information can therefore end up on servers outside the place where you live, under privacy rules that differ from yours. By sending us information after reading this document, you consent to that. We take reasonable steps so that it stays protected and is handled as described here, and we do not move personal information to another organization or country without appropriate safeguards.

When the law gets involved

Business transfers

If the Hub changes hands through a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your personal information may go with it. We will publish a notice before it falls under a different privacy policy.

Demands from authorities

We may hand over personal information if a statute obliges us to, or if a court, a regulator or another public body issues a valid demand.

Other good-faith disclosures

We may also release personal information if we honestly believe that doing so is necessary: to meet a legal duty; to defend our rights or our property; to look into or prevent suspected misconduct involving the Hub; to keep visitors or the public safe; or to protect ourselves against a legal claim.

Security

We use commercially reasonable measures to protect the information we hold. Still, nothing sent over the internet and nothing stored electronically is perfectly safe, and we cannot promise otherwise.

Younger visitors

The Hub is written for adults and is not aimed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you are a parent or guardian and think your child has given us details, contact us and we will remove them. Where your local law requires a parent's consent before a child's information may be processed, we will seek it first.

Links elsewhere

The Hub links to websites we do not operate. Their content and their privacy practices are theirs, not ours; please read their policies before sharing anything with them.

California residents

Residents of California enjoy extra rights, among them the ability to stop their information from being shared for advertising that follows them across websites. How to exercise those rights is described on our California privacy page.

Changes to this document

We will post any revised version here and update the date at the top. For significant changes we will also email you or display a prominent notice on the Hub before the new version applies. Checking back now and then is a good habit.
